Here at Government St. UMC we focus primarily on feeding the community, both physically and spiritually. Insofar as the homeless constitute a moderate percentage of our demographic area of service, that is addressed in several different areas: (1) we volunteer at McKemie Place, a women’s homeless shelter, serving meals there every other month on Saturday evenings; and our (2) continuing partnership with Love Me Anyway Ministries as a host location for their services and preparation in the area, in conjunction with their ministry of dispersing meals to the homeless throughout Mobile.
From the perspective of spiritual feeding the community at large, our church has become well known for its drama skits that bring Scripture to life.
